Lung Vai School – Awarded the “Together We Work for the Year” Project at the Ashui Awards 2022.

According to the 1+1>2 architectural office, the Lung Vai Kindergarten and Primary School is being built in a high, windy mountainous area in Minh Tan commune, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province, home to the Mong ethnic group.

The school building, designed and constructed by the 1+1>2 architectural office with charitable funding from AA Corporation (Ho Chi Minh City), covers an area of 600m2 and includes 3 classrooms, 1 teacher’s lounge, 1 kitchen, restrooms, a playground, and learning materials.

The project utilizes various local materials combined with the application of science and technology to make the materials higher quality and more sustainable. The school uses leveled soil and barren soil combined with additives to build the walls.

The roof, supported by a steel frame, utilizes Darwi corrugated iron sheets – a 3-layer, milky white Pomina AZ50 pre-painted aluminium-zinc steel coil with high durability, excellent protection from sun and rain, good insulation, ensuring ease of transportation on hilly terrain, and an aesthetically pleasing and harmonious appearance within the landscape.
