Using hot-rolled coil steel as raw material. The steel coil surface passes through HCL acid tanks to clean the steel rust layer, dirt, impurities on the surface. Then the steel coil is cleaned with water before being dried and coated with a protective chemical layer.

Receiving hot-rolled finished coil steel from the rust removal line, the cold rolling line uses the 6-reverse rolling mill principle, exerting pressure up to 1,300 tons on the steel coil surface to roll it thin into steel strips, with a rolling speed of up to 1,400 m/minute. The thickness, flatness of the steel strip surface is automatically controlled online through the X-Ray wave during the rolling process to ensure the exact thickness of the finished steel with absolute flatness.

With high pressure and high-speed rolling, the cold rolling line requires the quality of the rolling mill shafts to meet absolute technical specifications to ensure safety in operation and produce the best steel products. Recognizing this, Pomina Flat-Steel invests in Pomini roll grinding machines, imported as complete components from the Italian Republic. With the function of coating alloy layers on the surface to protect the steel base layer. The core factor to ensure the durability and lifespan of the finished steel in normal or harshest environmental conditions, such as acid corrosion environment, marine environment, maritime… is the uniformity of the galvanized layer throughout the production process, up to tens of thousands of square meters.

To meet this strict requirement, Pomina Flat-Steel invests in Tenova’s most advanced heat treatment furnaces with an automatic temperature control system, gas flow, fuel, strip speed throughout the galvanizing process. The thickness of the galvanized layer is controlled by the imported slitter equipment from Italy and the cluster of X-Ray sensors measuring the coating thickness online throughout the production process helps the line to control the coating layer perfectly.
